It’s not always easy to get out and meet new people, especially in an alternative scene. Where do you go to connect with other members of your community aside from the few club events we have? What if clubs aren’t really your thing? Or what if you aren’t old enough to go to the clubs yet? Where do you connect with your community then?
Meetups are a great way to make new friends and connect with people. You don’t need to yell to be heard and it’s a casual and relaxed environment where you can socialize.
Building a stronger community is all about getting out and meeting people and being involved. Get excited about connecting with your scene and contribute with your participation and ideas. Forge new friendships and make connections at our October Goth Meetup!
October 12, 2017
7pm – 9pm
Boston Pizza: 1045 Columbia St, New Westminster, BC V3M 1C4
Should I RSVP?
Yes! Please RSVP going on Facebook so that we can get an estimate of what size of table that we need to get when we get there. If you RSVP yes, please try to remember to let us know if you’re not going to make it. We don’t want to annoy the hell out of the restaurant.
We will be in the party room at the Boston Pizza. Just walk in, go towards the direction of the kitchen, and look to your right, you’ll see the party room.
Nope not at all. You are not under any pressure to order from the menu and this meetup is meant to be a no admission type of event.
This location was chosen because it’s close to transit, the staff are friendly, and they are able to accommodate varying group sizes. The food is also pretty good and they are open until 2am.
You should wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing, whether dressing up or not.
If you are someone who runs an event or a business that caters to the Gothic alternative scene you can feel free to bring some promo materials for people who show up. But the purpose of this group is not to show up, drop flyers on the table, and leave. You will be responsible for taking any flyers with you that people don’t want and being respectful to people who show up. If you are forceful with your promo material and treat the meetup like an infomercial, you will be asked to leave. Descent Sundays will not take any responsibility for cleaning up your promo material.
We look forward to seeing you at the October Goth Meetup on the 12th! If you have any questions about the meetup please feel free to contact us. Join our mailing list to stay in touch with upcoming events and share this event to connect with more people. Make the Descent!
