April Gothic Meetup & Clothing Swap

gothic graveyard

After the success of our February Gothic meetup, we will be hosting another restaurant meetup. These meetups are to help people connect with others in the alternative community. The point is to have a place to socialize, make friends, talk about passions, outside of the club atmosphere.

April Gothic Meetup FAQ

How do I find the group?

We will be in the party room at the Boston Pizza. Just walk in, go towards the direction of the kitchen, and look to your right, you’ll see the party room.

Do I need to spend Money?

Nope not at all. You are not under any pressure to order from the menu and this meetup is meant to be a no admission type of event.

Why Boston Pizza?

This location was chosen because it’s close to transit, the staff are friendly, and they are able to accommodate varying group sizes. The food is also pretty good and they are open until 2am.

Do I need to dress up?

You should wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing, whether dressing up or not.

What are the Clothing Swap Rules?

You can feel free to bring GENTLY USED clothing to swap at this event. The idea is to give life to new items if you have grown tired of them or they don’t fit anymore. The point of the clothing swap is NOT selling. However, if you wish to ask something for your items that is to be negotiated between people participating. You are responsible for any items that you bring. If you do not find them new homes, you are responsible to take them home with you.

Can I bring promo materials for my business or event?

If you are someone who runs an event or a business that caters to the Gothic alternative scene you can feel free to bring some promo materials for people who show up. But the purpose of this group is not to show up, drop flyers on the table, and leave. You will be responsible for taking any flyers with you that people don’t want and being respectful to people who show up. If you are forceful with your promo material and treat the meetup like an infomercial, you will be asked to leave. Descent Sundays will not take any responsibility for cleaning up your promo material.

Event Details

April 13, 2017

7pm – 9pm

Boston Pizza: 1045 Columbia St, New Westminster, BC V3M 1C4

Should I RSVP?

Yes! Please RSVP going on Facebook so that we can get an estimate of what size of table that we need to get when we get there. If you RSVP yes, please try to remember to let us know if you’re not going to make it. We don’t want to annoy the hell out of the restaurant.

Build a Stronger Community

The way we make a stronger scene in Vancouver is by building this sense of community. Not everyone enjoys the club atmosphere so this is the perfect opportunity to get to know some people outside of the clubs. Join us April 13 from 7pm – 9pm and get connected!
