Fashion is a large cornerstone for those interested in Goth culture and one of the main things that binds us together as a community with a quick glance. There are many different types of Goth trends that have emerged over the years and this gives us lots of room to play with how we express our identity. With this event we want to celebrate Gothic style and what better way to do that than by teaming up with talented local desginers? Nancy Amenti is a creative and and brilliant Vancouver designer with an eye on alternative fashion. She presented us a showcase of some gowns, lingerie and party dresses in a fantastic fashion show!
This event also encouraged a clothing swap where members of the scene were encouraged to bring GENTLY USED and LAUNDERED clothing for a swap with other community members. A clothing swap is a great way to give clothing new life as well as rejuvenate your wardrobe with a lot less cost.
Fashion is a huge part of the alternative lifestyle and one of the easiest ways that we stand out from the mainstream crowd. Many members of community were not interested in fashion until they got into the Goth scene. If you have a love for alternative clothing styles, there are a number of places in our community where you can connect with them. Also be sure to sign up for our mailing list to be informed of future swaps and upcoming events. We look forward to seeing you at our next event, Krampus in July, on July 17! Don’t stay home, make the Descent!
